Straight or Right Helical?

RE: Straight or Right Helical?
Straight means just that, straight with your arrow.
Helical left or right wraps around your arrow. Being helical wraps around the arrow it creates more air drag than straight. Air drag by your fletch is crucial for them to steer or stabilize your arrow. The faster or quicker you get your arrows spinning, the less likely the front end/broadhead will steer or plane your arrow off course.

So if I shoot a broadhead I should use right or left?
But if I shoot Mechs then straight is ok?

Right of left is irrelavant but many claim that right is better as it spins the correct direction to keep your points tight, I've used left and really didn't see the points loosening.

RE: Straight or Right Helical?
Left or right really only come into play for off the shelf shooters such as in traditional.
Helical or offset is certainly better in all aspects than straight. Honestly, I have no idea why anyone would fletch straight other than rest clearance.

If I understand how this works right
aprong style rests would probably do better with an offset fletch, due to fletching clearance with the arrow rest. If you shoot with a drop away style rest a right or left helical would be a good choiceand would staiblize your broadhead better, although you might lose a few fps its probably so small it would really matter much.

RE: Straight or Right Helical?
Exactly. I shot a straight offset early on when I used a prong-style rest to avoid fletching contact. When I switched to fallaways a few years ago, I started fletching my arrows with as hard a helical as I can and still get my bases to contact the fletch the complete length of the feather.
