i thought about takeing a piece of berlap camo and laying the dummy on the ground then covering it up
i think more then deer it would help keep people out of your stand and keep it from getting stolen if it did your got 20 bucks of camo

I think it is a good idea.

But, what do you do with the dummy when you want to hunt? Do you take it down the day before. etc????

Couldn't you just put up another stand a few yards away? When the deer looks at the empty stand he'll relax and assume he's safe.

But you'll be waiting for him in the new stand 10 yards away or so. That would be easier than using a dummy IMO.

A question easily answered. Instead of stuffing the dummy with straw (or whatever), stuff him with ears of corn. When you want to hunt, chunk the ears out on the ground and stuff the camo in your back back...LOL!!

OR you could borrow my tree saddle and set up on the back side of that same tree, just behind your treestand. You'll be hiding behind the tree out of sight but the stand will be empty. When the deer relaxes and comes in front of the "empty stand" just come to full draw, bend your left knee slightly to slowly creep around the tree and let him have it!
