LOL, that's the right end for a dog. He tracks them all and bear too. If it bleeds, he's on it and when the bleeding stops, that's where he shines.

Absolutely, I'd imagine the only reason the full size breed is used is speed. I'd imagine the mini being a little slow but the old proverbial saying, slow and steady wins the race.

And Jeff's refering to Axel disappearing one morning while the truck was running ready to head to NC for some spring gobbler. He was missing 5 hours til some guy found him 1 mile away and brought him home. Little bugger was tracking something. [&:]

Deer search, a group in the WNY area, uses mini dachshunds ....My wife breeds them...we just sold 6 puppies a month ago
