[align=left]I just got done reading Dr Ashby's "Arrow Lethality Study Update 2005 Part II". [/align][align=left][/align][align=left]This study is about the effect of extreme FOC (>19%) on arrow penetration. He found that, for two arrows with identical weight and the same stylebroadhead, the arrows with extreme FOC penetrated better than normal FOC arrows. My current arrows get me similar weight and speed but are only about 10% FOC. What do you think? What kind of arrow flight could I expect?[/align]

I don't see why not. I like Blazers because I'm using a whisker biscuit for hunting. They are lighter than regular vanes which will also increase FOC slightly.

You will gain about 1-2% FOC if you go with 4" Feathers instead.

As some know I am a proponent of high FOC arrows. I have been using them for about 2 years now and love how they fly and especially how hard the hit.

Last years setup was yeilding me an FOC of about 21%

This years setup:
Gold Tip Series 22 7.3gpi @ 29"= 211.7grns
Insert= 30grns
PDP Weight Adapters Behind Insert= 40grns
Nock= 13grns
3 4" Shield Cut Feathers= 9grns
7" Wrap= 12grns
Muzzy Phantoms= 220grns
TOTAL= 535.7grns
FOC= 23.01%

I would like to do this with my arrows to experiment. They are Easton AXIS ST 500's. Help me out on what to do to get this FOC you speak of. I am just experimenting, but this interests me greatly. Please answer via PM's

I have some FMJ's setup with 100 grain brass inserts yielding over 21% FOC.

The penetration, flight, grouping, and all around performance of these arrows was nothing short of amazing.

While I don't use them with every setup, they definitely have their place in my arsenal.
