I think this center 10 is about perfect.

Too much caffeine to draw well... but you get the idea.

This is a great pic, most hunters don't realize how high up the actual shoulder blade is on a deer or how low and forward the heart is on one.I think on a perfect broadside shot ,the best shot is just above the shoulder bone that angles toward the deer ,just right where GREGH has put his dot, thats the spot you want to hit.

I prefer that location as well Greg. A little more room for error as compared to aiming 2-3 inches lower.

When i aim at a deer i make an imaginary crosshair...the verticle line is right up the crease just behind the front leg, just like the earlier picture. Then i cut the deer in thirds and the line between the bottom third and middle third is the horizontal line, where they intersect is right where i want to drive that arrow. I hope that made sense, it would probably be better to illustrate it but i don't know how haha...To the original poster i understand your point, but that front shoulder bone is farther forward then you think, so i think aiming at the crease gives you plenty of room for error, just my two cents

Sure would make it easier for some.

If you place an arrow where the center 10is,you have a very short track job.AND,alot of room for error in any direction.
