Haha, i think you guys are missing the point. This is not a CONSUMER tree arm. This is a professional, high-end arm. Its twice the size of those smaller arms and can withstand an unbelieveable ammount of weight without compromizing smooth, steady footage.

I know it is expensive, but you would have to see one to realize the difference...its kina noticeable

Heres a better picture so you can see just how big it is. It allows you to get the camera anywhere it needs to be. You can even wrap the arm around your body to video behind you, or swing in between you and the tree and wrap around the back side of the tree.

Seriously though, I would say Hunslinger is a good one to listen to [8D]. That gomuddy arm seems to be the best option other than the HB of course.

I am confused as to why the Hunter Cam Craddle isn't helpful?

I didnt say it wasnt helpful, i said that i PREFER a tree arm with two arms and that i have heard some bad things about them. Im sure that it works just fine in certain cases...i was just giving my input.

I thought the same thing when I saw the HB arm at first, but after doing a lot more research I have found that with these things you get what you pay for.

At first I liked the look of the HCC, but after doing some research and looking at the design it uses pin attachments and a leveling system that can be prone to loosening. The pin attachment is no good because it will allow for play. Also, as Mike said the 3 arms is just another area where there can be some shake and instability which translates to instability.

Now, I'm no expert on these things, but I have done my homework and found that the HB arm is a great arm, but too much for what I need. The GoMuddy arm looks pretty good, but I just worry about how smooth it will be at that price.

Also, if you have a ball head mount for your fluid head it would be good to get a tree arm that will accomodate that because it makes leveling so much easier.

Honestly, im not trying to knock this tree arm or anything, but if you are going to spend the $600, you might as well spend a little more and go with our arm. I saw this arm at the shows this year and it is basically a CHEAP built version of our arm.

IMO this arm is overpriced for its cheap build. If this makes a difference, i would buy the muddy arm before i would buy this arm, regardless off the price difference

In addition to the 3/8" mondel, we make a bowl arm as well that comes with a Gitzo insert in it.
