What have you seen or heard?
We see a lot of posts about tactics based on deer behavior....and I was just wondering what you've seen or heard, personally......on stand or otherwise:
1. Buck Grunting (Saw and heard the buck)
2. Buck Grunting (Heard, only)
3. Buck making a scrape (seen)
4. Buck making a rub (seen)
5. Fawn bleating (seen and heard the fawn)
6. Maternal grunt from doe (seen and heard the doe)
7. Bedded deer in your set (seen it come in and bed)
8. Buck making a "clicking" vocalization (seen and heard the buck)
9. Two deer mating (easy Germy....buc and doe answers, only)
10. Buck or doe pissing on its tarsals (seen)
Extra Credit: My ignore list

RE: What have you seen or heard?
I've honestly seen all on your list Jeff.. with exception to the "clicking" buck (not even sure what that is) and deer mounting each other and breeding. I've seen them mount.. but always youngsters just playin' around.
I've also never seen your ignore list.
The rather interesting part is that I spend a TON of time in the woods.. rather hunting or just observing without intent to kill.. and I still haven't seen the breeding yet..

1-4. Niether of the 5's????? [] 6, 8, 9.
To add, ive seen coyote chasing doe, till I whistled and they went in opposite directions.
Seen a 2-250lb black bear chasing two doe. literally right under my stand. Actually made me nervous as much carrying on he was doing.
Also had a buck come into my grunting and almost stand under my tree, i was scared to get out not going to lie. He was mean SOB.

RE: What have you seen or heard?
Cool post.
1. Buck Grunting (Saw and heard the buck) Seen and heard. In fact that's how I knew a buck was coming, I heard him before I saw him and he grunted the whole way.
2. Buck Grunting (Heard, only) I've heard this too and never located the buck.
3. Buck making a scrape (seen) Not seen this yet.
4. Buck making a rub (seen) Does seeing a tree swaying back and forth and then seeing the buck count?
5. Fawn bleating (seen and heard the fawn) I've heard this and then seen the deer, but not actually seen the fawn do it.
5. Maternal grunt from doe (seen and heard the doe) Both seen and heard.
6. Bedded deer in your set (seen it come in and bed) Yes
7. Buck making a "clicking" vocalization (seen and heard the buck) Never seen nor heard this one.
8. Two deer mating (easy Germy....buc and doe answers, only) Never seen this myself
9. Buck or doe pissing on its tarsals (seen) I've seen doe, but not buck
10. My ignore list
Another thing I've seen that was pretty cool that isn't on the list is 2 does fighting. I have yet to see 2 bucks fighting from stand, but have seen it from a distance while glassing on a Sunday.

RE: What have you seen or heard?
I have seen a buck on hind legs at a scrape chewing on a branch. It was a spike, and glassed him at about 100 yrds.
I called in two yearling buttons last year (they were together) using a doe bleat and a tinks 69 wick. When they got to the wick both of them started stomping and pissing all over the place (rather comical).
I was in my stand before the sun came up and heard grunting for several minutes.
I've also been in my stand and heard a sappling getting the beating of its life...I assume it was getting a good rubbing since we later located the tree and it was so fresh it couldnt have been an hour old. The droppings were still steaming around it!
Im still waiting to see this one though:

Keep hoping to see the buck rubbing.....hear the "clicking" vocalization.....and to catch two mating (for informational, non-horn-porn purposes)....but it just hasn't happened, yet.
Been blessed to witness all the others, first-hand. First buck I ever saw in the wild (while hunting.....or...now that I think about it....first one I saw ANYWHERE) came in grunting and worked a scrape. Neat first encounter.
I left off buck sparring and buck fights....now that I think about it. I've seen the sparring...but around here....they only fight over who HAS to go over and service a doe.
