Thats weird. I see some of you have said you never seen them mate, but as many times as I've seen that happen I don't find it that rare. But some of you have heard sounds that I havent heard. hmmm? Different regions maybe?

ORIGINAL: GMMAT

We see a lot of posts about tactics based on deer behavior....and I was just wondering what you've seen or heard, personally......on stand or otherwise:
1. Buck Grunting (Saw and heard the buck) - NOPE

2. Buck Grunting (Heard, only) - NOPE

3. Buck making a scrape (seen) - Yes

4. Buck making a rub (seen) - Yes

5. Fawn bleating (seen and heard the fawn) - I've heard a deer bawl when crippled up and caught by dogs.... and it ain't nothing to discuss hear because if you hunt with or around hounds you have probably experienced it, if you didn't grow up around it you'd probably go anti-hunting... its kinda chilling and depressing really.

5. Maternal grunt from doe (seen and heard the doe) - I've heard a high pitched "blowing" sound followed by a foot stomp and a white tail flag... does that count? - NOPE

6. Bedded deer in your set (seen it come in and bed) - Yes, I've seen deer bed near me... but not necessarily because of my set.

7. Buck making a "clicking" vocalization (seen and heard the buck) - NOPE, but I have heard a snort wheeze... sounded a lot like a balloon deflating to me. I guess thats what it was... I didn't see the buck do it... buck I saw the buck... heard the noise.. then saw the buck again.

8. Two deer mating (easy Germy....buc and doe answers, only) - NOPE

9. Buck or doe pissing on its tarsals (seen) - YES, buckwhile working a scrape.

I have seen/heard a buck:
scrape (several times)
rub (several times)
paw snow away to make a bed,and lay in it(once)
chase a "hot" doe (many times)
grunt (many times)
come to my "Can" call (several times)
come to my rattling (several times)
react to my rattling (watched him, once)
I have seen/heard a doe:
make an estrus bleat (watched her, once)
bed down (many times)
run from a horny buck (many times)

1. Countless times. I've been calling deer since I bought my first deer call when I was 15. That was 26 seasons ago. I've caused it numerous tims as well.

2. I've heard bucks I haven't seen as well.

3. Again, countless times and I've caused it with deer vocalizations. I also have filmed it several times.

4. Same as number 3.

5. Numerous times, again, I filmed many bleating as well.

6. See 3, 4, 5.

7. Countless times both buck, doe and fawns.

8. This is one vocalization I have never heard. I have caused/heard the buck snort/ wheeze that is not on your list but never the clicking.

9. Only spotlighting. Amazing that all I have done, seen and caused this one has eluded me.

10. I've seen both doe and buck pissing on their tarsals both in and out of scrapes.

I'd like to add,

11. I've heard and caused the snort/wheeze.

12. I"ve never heard the buck "growl" unless you count the buck we chased down and bleed out, he growled at us.

I have also herd the snort wheeze from a buck I killed following a doe. It was cool.
Seen bucks trying to murder each other.
