Around here air is more than ten dollars per ton.[]

two years ago I bought 12 tons spread for $425.00 or 35 bucks per ton.

I thought I read that somewhere online...does that sound off?? Essentailly I need to figure out ifI can buy lime and weed killer for 10 acres with a 600 budget. What do you guys think?

Weed killer about $100.00.The lime depends on how acidic your soil is. I but pelletized lime which is more expensive per ton then regular lime. $10.00 a ton I think you are way off.I bought enough pasture mix seed to do 1-1/2 acres for $120.00. The fertilizer is another expence. I don't have the exact fiqures it was split up between 3 people but it is going to be more than you are thinking.

You are wanting to do seed, lime, fertilizer and round-up on 10 acres for appx $600? I don't think you will get there. Your first step in figuring out what this is going to cost you is to get a soil sample done. Then and only then will you know how much lime and fertilizer you are going to need. Get a soil sample and run it up to your local FS. They can do the soil sample for you, give you a cost of the lime, and recommendations for amount and type of fertilizer.Farming fordeer is not cheap.
