Default Best Two Weeks?

Hey all,

I’m planning my time off in the fall to bow hunt and I need help trying to decide what weeks to take off. My plan is to take two solid weeks for bowhunting.

Thanks!

It all depends on where you are going to hunt and when the rut happens in that area.

Ed....I don't know what your herd dynamics are.....but around here....with our densities.....the rut starts somewhere around the first week of November and runs throughout the end of the season (which is +/- Dec. 15th). If I were choosing time off (a week)....I'd do so somewhere around the middle of Nov.

I would "assume"....since you are North of me......yours would be a "smidge" earlier.

Good luck to you. I'm thinking this is your year.

Thanks, I've got that fuzzy feeling too!!! It's about time! Been 2+ years since I arrowed (successfully)abuck...

Yeah, Ed....but I know you.....and I've seen your hunting areas and gamecam photos. I understand what you're looking for. The fact that you haven't arrowed a buck in two seasons does nothing but tell me two things:

1. You have a standard that you're not willing to compromise on......to the extent that you'll pass on "lesser" (deemed by you) bucks

2. It hasn't been a product of ANYTHING but "choice".

Respect. I fully expect to see you behind a P&Y buck this fall. Good luck.

Ed, I have positively seen more bucks on their feet around November 3rd-10th than any other time. The only problem here in VA/MD that you already know is that it sometimes can remain hot(50ish) until mid November. That changes the timing sometimes.

I agree, the hot weather is why I'm leaning towards later... But I need to get my vacation on the calendar...
