I hunt in the swamp, most times there is a high spot that is tough to get too. If this high spot has some oak trees in it, that is where I hunt. MI has a pile of swamps. In most cases there is a lot of sign on the outside edges of a swamp. This is where most hunters stop and hunt, I look to go beyond that and hunt the inside of a samp and find that patch of high ground.

New spot I plan to hunt this fall just doing some research and scouting with the topo and aerial now. Problem do some leg work next week. the slue is about 500 acres and to the south rollingspoils

What do I look for? The same thing I do every where else, trails, tracks, travel routes, and reasons they're where they are. Depends on what type of swamp you're in too, Hemlock, Alder, wetlands.... they all have key ingrediants you have to figure out..... all based on food, water, travel, mating, escape and security.
