ECONOMY how much is it changing your purchases

RE: ECONOMY how much is it changing your purchases
I was the one stating that, because that is what I see. I also qualified my statement that maybe Pittsburgh's economy is doing rather well compared to the rest of the country. You go to ANY major location of entertainment, food, & shopping, and you can't find a place to park. That is the way it is around here.

Oh, yeah. Blame the media. It's all their fault. Why I saw Tom Brokaw down at the corner, ramping up the prices on the sign at the gas station, just the other day.
Question No. 2: Which political party does the vast majority of the mainstream media lean towards?

Question No 1: Which political party benefits from the perpetuation by the media that the economy is in shambles?
Question No. 2: Which political party does the vast majority of the mainstream media lean towards?
edit:
Am I the only one who remembers when Slick Willie was in office, and Hillary complaining about the media and it's involvement in the 'vast right wing conspiracy?' Now we've got Republicans griping about the media's vast socialist agenda because they're reporting on the economy?
It's more than getting a little old. Put the blame where it lies. It was Clinton's fault he was getting hammered. Now Dubbya is taking his turn in the hot seat. Rightly so, on both counts.

That's funny, Arthur.....lol.
The "vast right wing conspiracy" was Hillary's term....when the media began reporting on Bill's fling with MOnica Lewinski. So...what were they supposed to do? Not report on it? She was trying to downplay the "event" the best way she knew how.....which was to try and shame them into NOT reporting it. She was doing what most saw/see now as "damage control".
Who's doing this? And....if you don't mind....define "socialist" and how it applies to your statement; your charge and your implication.
Right-O! But CLinton got a "pass" from the mainstream media at almost every turn.
One of the main polling agencies did an anonymouspoll a few years ago....and the %-age of liberal v republican "journalists" was something close to 90/10. "Conservative" and main stream "Journalism" go hand in hand about as much as oil and water do.
What does George Bush have to do with our economy?
**Disclaimer - I am NO GWB fanboy.

I believe billary was complaining about right wing talk radio, but I could be wrong and there is NO WAY there is a 50/50 split in the news media,NO WAY.(GMATT HAS IT RIGHT I BELIEVE)
I personally haven't changed a thing.BUT,I am not one that spends alot on hunting gear.A few years ago I spent alot on target stuff but I don't play that game anymore, that has been replaced with trips to ball tournaments every weekend and accesories for the kids.
Seems that these horrible times we keep hearing about are not changing many on here spending habits on hunting. How many are really suffering like we keep hearing about?
Don't get me wrong, gas and food have gone up and I don't like it anymore than anyone else. The sad reality is that the market sets the price of oil and the market has just about seen the max it can withstand imo.
Ihave to add, timeswere MUCH TOUGHER around here under Clinton.MUCH TOUGHER.When he sold us out to theChinese,it just about destroyed the work force around here.

Just wander down the page to the political forum - where this thread is heading if we don't get back on topic[:-] - and check out what they're saying there. That's where the socialist 'insinuation' comes from.
Anonymous poll? I was a cub reporter as my first job after getting out of my first run at college. I'd have to know what kind and how many high octane beverages had been consumed before answering the poll before I could pay much attention to that. All the reporters I knew were half ripped most of the time and didn't mind telling lies amongst friends. Might have just said what they reckoned the pollsters wanted to hear.
What does George have to do with the economy? Well, let's see... It's his and his advisors' decisions on both the economy and foriegn affairs that set up the ground rules that lead us into this mess. He's top dog in his administration and, historically, it's the boss who foots the blame for what goes wrong. Hence, he dunnit.
That's as much as I intend to say about this. Didn't intend to say this much in the first place, but I got my dander up about blaming the media. So, let's get back on topic now, shall we?

And the thread's about the economy.....so this isn't a stretch, at all. I can tell you if the junior senator from IL becomes our next president......I'm gonna sit on all the money I have thathe doesn't take.[8D]
Have a good evening.....
