Hmmm. Well, dang, I was thinking it might be apricot. That might be the wrong picture for their blossom though or a different variety. Here is another apricot blossom that I think is more common.

I'm almost sure it's a persimmon. A pear (bradford or callery)has somewhat shorter/fatter leaves for sure.

Well I should have added that my Forestry teacher said it was not a persimmon, and he now works for the State forestry department.

I have a friend that always jokes... "Always question authority".
Althought it's a joke, sadly it's true on many occasions.
