For whitetails, I'd have to say the investment that's meant the most success for my pursuits has to be my Cranford EZ steps...

When I'm elk hunting in the mountains of Colorado, it's my GPS... simply couldn't make it without it; it's a true modern-day miracle!

Primos "The Can" I have shot a lot of deer that came in on that $8 investment. Dollar for dollar the best money I ever spent for hunting.
Good one!The "Can" works, plain and simple. It works especially well during the rut, after all, it's a doe in estrus call. I think it should be in everybody's day pack!

Depends what time of year it is:

Early season... a thermacell

Late season.... hand warmers and or good wool clothes/under armor.

No matter what though.... I think my overall best investment was in a good pair of binoculars. They have helped me see game I may have not seen coming until it was right slam on top of me. Coupled with being able to enjoy other non-game species as I hunt, and being able to make sure I was shooting a doe instead of a shed buck or such.... great way to spend a grand.
