Yeah kind of the same for me...
Went up to the camp with the boys, more of a "let the hair down weekend", if you know what I mean??!!!...
Brought the ATV's and the beers. Needless to say...
I was the only sap to get up a 5AM and head for the nearby field.
Sat for 2 hours and my butt fell asleep, so I got up and saw a big ol' swamp donkey looking at me from across the field, that was cool.
Tehn walked over to the next field and nothing was going on, so I went back to camp and made the boys breakfast.
They went out ATVing (mine broke the night b4), so I took a little cat nap and awoke to a prrrr (left my decoy outside) didn't see anything, so slept some more.
Boys came back 1/2 hour later and told me they flushed a huge hen right by my decoy, go figure.
Not much of a turkey hunter, just getting outside was nice!

Bowhunting turkeys is the most exasperating and frustrating - but at the same time the most rewarding - kind of hunting I have ever done. Compares very favorably to archery elk hunting.

Put the hammers, wood, pickups, and nails away and let them rest....sip a scotch on the rocks and hammer'em in the AM.

You're still working on that fence ?

Good luck tomoro, bud...
the fence is done! The biggest problem was cutting down the forest that grew up along the fence. My dad said it was about 54 years since the old fence was built!
Cutting was a challenge with the old wire grown in all over. It's a little tricky cutting with a chain saw and barb wire. [:'(]

you did a good duty for dad...and cherished memories came from the fence....the fence is sacred...and the fence will bring you good luck...

Your story will be the fence "bird" and how you got your Turkey and how the fence played its roll....

I can see it now...

Good night...farewell....until next time....we'll see you in the woods...I mean on the forum[8D]
