Pass through double long shot- Expiration Time!

RE: Pass through double long shot- Expiration Time!
Are you talkingabout the deer going down or actually dying? I've seen them "pile up" in 5-10 seconds, but I can't see them actually "dying" in 10 seconds,... even from the excessive hemmoraging and asphyxiation caused by a perfect double-lung pass-through. If both our lungs suddenly collapsed and our femoral artery suddenly ruptured at the same time, even we wouldremain conscious longer than 10 seconds. Granted, that'd be some really bad luck, but still.....

I voted 10-20 seconds. Seems like all my double lung deer go 35-100 yards before expiring. My first doe I shot last year was a double lung and she went 35 yards, not sure if she made it 3 seconds before the cartwheel and lights out.

A body must loose aproximately 40% of its total blood volumebefore it will die.
It takes a deer aproximately 10-15 seconds to loose this much blood. Then it passes out, becomes unconcious and then dies (brain dead) about a minute later.
The larger the animal the longer it obviouslytakes.

It don't take long! Just for aguements sake what is a true double lung? I have hit both lungs and had one deer go about 250 yds. It lived for quite a while. It stopped twice and coughed up files of foamy blood. It layed down 4 times. The hit was high but still caught both lungs.

Most of my double lung hits (mid body right behind the shoulder) have lived for that 20 second range, some less. If you have a high double lung they could easily live a bit longer. I've heard of people seeing them for 3 to 4 minutes alive on a high double lung hit.
