Default RE: Whats tips your practice arrows ? Do you hunt with practice arrows ?

1)Whats tips are on your practice arrows ? I practice with 100 grain field points. (When deer season gets closer, I'll shoot some broad heads to.)

2)Do you hunt with the same arrows you practice with? No, I like to have "new" arrows in my quiver.

3)What do you usually shoot at ? (target) I usually shoot at a BLOCK target.

4) How often do you shoot, from ground or stand? I shoot every day from the ground.

Ihave 3 or 4 arrows set up with braodheads & practice with them from the ground & off my deck that is about 8' above the ground. I shoot MOSTLY at 25 yds. at my 3d deer target.
I shoot ALL my hunting arrows with my practice broadheads b/4 going to the woods. On occassion, you might have one that for some unknown reason flys different. Check em all....
3 blade Rocky Mountain Ironheads & 2216 Easton Aluminum.

I expect my arrows, regardless of tip, to fly the same soI mostly practice with field tips but I will practice with broadheads when needed. Ipractice withall ofthe shafts that I expect to hunt with. That way, if there is a funky spine mixed in the bunch, I will be able to weed it out before attempting to hunt with it. I shoot bag targets mostly unless I am going to be using broadheads an then I use the BH target. Depending on the time of year I will shoot off the ground, off a chair on the ground, standing, kneeling, sitting on the ground, around bushes and other ways that I can think of.

I use 125 field pts during the off season, and my broadheads about 2 weeks before season opens. I don't hunt with the arrows I practice with on a regular basis,I will shoot my hunting arrows with broadheads to make sure they fly like they should.I mostly use a bag target in the off season for the field points, then switch to the block and the glendale full rut buck with broadheads when I start shooting them. Most of my shooting is done from the ground,I will shoot some at the 3-d target with hunting set-up from an elevated stand just before season, just to make sure.

ORIGINAL: drenal

since my broad heads fly the same as my field tips
i use my field tips to practice and use the same arrows for hunting and for practice and for 3 d .
im so supersticious that even though i have like 3 dozen arrows i use the same 4 all year round for everything ,just cant get over it [:@]
i shoot at 3 d targets
and 80 percent of practice is from the ground
broadheads are generally longer than field points, does that change the dynamics of your arrow at all?
