Don't eat the yellow snow.

If you have limited timeput most of your efforts into hunting the Rut. Hunt all day and stay sharp. Save your best spots for that magical time in Nov., pay attention to everything concerning your scent, and alwaysuse the wind.

Scout your key areas from a distance. If youknow an area where you have your stand, instead of walking down in the area. Scout your areafrom the roads, old roads, creek crossings an etc, that surround it. Check the old roads for tracks, scrapes an rubsheading in to your area toget an idea how many deer are going through there. That way you never disturb your stand area.
Oh yea, rasians do not fall out of the trees an land on the ground in piles.

I believe most of the time mature bucks walk with the wind that is why they always end up circling down wind.
They do not try use 2 senses the same way. My example is if they are walking with the wind they can smell anythingfrom behind them
They can see movement ahead of them. And use their ears for sounds all around them.
Think about when that buck is out lets say 100 yards and you grunt. He comes in maybe 25 more yards straight in and stops looks around and sees nothing.
Something fishy so he circleswhat he cant see but heard so he let that nose work for him. BAM busted game over.
So my tip, keep a creek, stream, lake, or something that might keep him from circling but yet keep him coming in to investigate.
I am sure you have heard this before but its true. Good luck in 08 peoples.

Always pick more than one tree for your climber in an area. Gives you the best chance to play the wind. Or you can just where scent lok . Just kidding. And never hunt your favorite hot spot if the wind isn't right. You'll have just wasted all that scouting time you put into it.

Im sure most already do, but im sayin anyway I use a climber alot. When im scouting for new areas Im always looking for tree setups as well. Its hard to find that perfect limbless tree so sometimes you just have to settle for what you got. And that means having to trim limbs off so you can get up itin aclimber, SO i offer you this. Go in well before the season to your new found trees, take your climber and saw and get them ready NOW. Especially hunting the early season and having to trim, makes for sweat and unnessary noise. Dont wait till your hunt!! peace out... blood [8D]

-Hunt the wind, and if it is not right, do not hunt that place.
-Shoot your bow, tons.
-Low impact is the key to killing mature deer.
-Scout your ass off, during Feb.-April.
-Have certain spots that you can get to easily. We have certain "low impact" stands that we harvest does out of.
-Hunt as much as you can.
-Record, everything.
-Funnels are a deer hunters best friend.

Take care of all the small details of the hunt prior to entering the woods, being well prepared. That allows you to focus on the task at hand, which is getting to your hunting area quietly.
When shooting a deer that is extremely close from a treestand, aim at the lower 1/3rd of its body or else you will shoot high.
