Not yet, but I'll have my '07 buck officially scored and he's gonna be close. If he makes it, I'll join.
Good luck Mobo on him making the books! Get him measured quick if he's close, them racks do shrink some and will keep shrinking.

I intended to join, but thought that you had to have a qualifying animal...so it's good to know that you don't. After getting my 07 buck I became interested and called one of only a few scorers in our area to get my buck officially scored and entered, but it was at the taxi at the time. Now that I have it back, I may follow-up and try again. I also talked to him about becoming a scorer and you'd have thought he won the lottery he was so excited. Seems they don't have nearly enough and are worn pretty thin running around performing their volunteer duties. Personally, if I were a scorer, people would be bringing their trophies to me, not me going to them.
I quoted this off of the P&Y website. http://www.pope-young.org/index.asp

How could I become an official measurer?
The first step in the appointment process is to request and complete a Measurer's Application form and return it to the Club's headquarters. Then, based on the information on the application and the need for additional measurers in the applicant's area, the applicant may receive an invitation to attend one of the Club's measurer training workshops. These three-day limited-invitation workshops generally take place during the summer months.

Oops! I accidentally let my membership lapse. That will be corrected soon because I believe in the club and support it wholeheartedly.

Steve, if you have some more information on the beneficial programs they sponsor I'd like to hear more about them. I do realize that they are a well intentioned club, but some of the things that rub me the wrong way are like what Huntingson said. Well, that and the fee. Also, if I wanted to enter a buck, but had no interest in entering my name, just the deer's score, its location of kill, and date, would there be a charge for that?
