Are your woods creepy?

RE: Are your woods creepy?
I would have to say when I first started hunting deer back in 84 my dad always stressed if you go into that swamp you will get lost.
At the time that was so damn scary to me and to this day I still get nervous about it. But the great DUKEMICHAELS has helped
me with this fear. Now bring on the AMAZON!

Sometimes when I am at the camp an no one else is there there is sort of a creppy feeling come over me when I am leaving the stand in the evening at dark thirty. Can not explain it, just happens sometimes.

I guess I have a different point of veiw than most people. The places that I have been and that creep me out a bit are where there are random other people wandering around and I never know when my hunt is going to be disrupted and the peace and quiet spoiled. The wilder it is, and the further from a road, the happier I am. I love the sound of coyotes, wolves - I am still waiting to hear a cougar, although I have heard a bobcat or two. Shivers go up my spine but thats part of the reason I love it.
The bigfeet creep me out though.[:-]

In Northern Minnesota some of the areas I hunt are down right spooky!! There is downfall and uprooted stumps everywhere and its down right thick, most spots you can't see 10 yards in front of you. When walking in to my bear stands in the morning or walking out of them at night everything looks like a bear. When tracking a bear that were not sure of how good the shot is it gets pretty darn nerve racking at times. I've also done some elk hunting in SW Montana in the mountain country that was unbelievably beautiful but at the same time it was very nerve racking with all the downfall in there. Most spots when walking in the mountains where I'm talking about you can't go off the trail because its to thick. Its some of the best elk hunting I've seen though because of all the thick cover!!

I'm a residential hunter. Since that is what I am, I've be to subject to random sounds and neighbors who have no clue you are hunting that day. You need to relax. From the day I started hunting, every morning on the stand I took I asked myself, what if today is the day the sun chooses not to rise?

I hunt a lot boardering a big flooded brake and the sounds that come from that is something to hear, there is also nothing more unnerving than walking out in the dark and the yotes start the howling all around you, that unnerves me sometimes depending on how close they are.One of the spookiest things that has ever happened to me was when I first started bowhunting over 20 years ago,I was Tensas national wildlife refuge and was hunting between two huge cane thickets and about 20 minutes before dark a black bear busted out of the thicket, put his nose to the ground and precedded to follow my trail within 15 feet of the tree I was in when it stopped on stood on it's hind legs and was testing the air,he left the area but I had to climb down a few minutes later and walk out, which by the way I forgot my flashlight, man that was a nerve wrecking walk I tell you.I herd all kinds of noises on my walk out.I won't ever forget that.I was never really in any danger but m imagination was getting the best of me.That is why I love hunting.

Affirmative. I'm honestly that way each time I walk into the woods in the dark. It just.....creeps me out a little. Add a few howling coyotes......oh yeah, I get wigged out.
