NC Hawkeye - you PAID for all your kids' college tuition!? Holy schnikey!

You wouldn't want to adopt a 28-year-old son with about $80,000 in student loans, by chance, would ya? I guarantee I can get my parents to sign off on the paperwork to formally disown me.

I make a great companion, and enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities. I'd consider myself the ultimate hunting wingman. And for a mere $80K, I could be all yours!

Seriously.

As for the FAST vs. SLOW paradigm: I'd say that some (most) guys just don't have the moxy necessary to handle a bow of this caliber.

Kinda like handing the keys to a Ferrari to a 3-year-old . . . Or the old rich CEO with one foot in the grave, a 23 year-old trophy wife, and no Viagra prescription.

Just a total waste.

Quick don't sell yourself short! You being you is well worth another $20,000 on top of the student loans...... for a mere $100,000 grand......Its Good to be the King!

People's perspectives change on what is considered "sufficient".
Compare it to gas prices... gas around here is averaging 3.50 a gallon. How many people would be happy if gas was at $2.00 a gallon, Everyone would, but think about not too long ago when it was like $1.00 a gallon.

Since bows made it over 320 fps, all of a sudden 250 fps is not sufficient enough to kill a deer. i dont know about you, but deer skin isn't getting any thicker.

Heck when I bought my bow in 03 it was fast! Now it's slow and it shoots the same speed now as it did in 03.
I guess I shoot a "slow bow" because I haven't bought a "new bow".

I will be the first to admit that my form is a long way from perfect, and I need all the forgiveness I can get. That is why I chose the commander with a long ata, straight riser design, and a long brace height.I also shoot with an arrow that weighes 491 grns put all that together and you have one sweet shooting forgiving bow,and it's not that slow 260fps,not too bad

To get back to the original question, I don't think that anyone likes to shoot a slow bow. Cost, shootability, arrow weight, and a hundred other factors come into play when talking about arrow speed. We can get attached to a particular bow but if somehow we could add another 50 fps to our favorite bow without sacrificing anything few people would not take advantage of that.

I guess you could call my bow slow (280 fps) compared to some of the dual cam fast bows out right now. I like the smooth easy draw, 80% let off, short Axle to Axle, low shock and quiet shooting. Having the fastest bow doesn't impress me anymore and hasn't for quite some time.

I wish I could get more speed but with my 26 inch draw @ 65 lbs I'm handicapped!

Like some of the others, i like the forgiveness of a long brace height, long ATA bow. With a 27.5" draw, i ain't gonna get a whole of "speed" anyway. Every deer i have ever killed with a bow fell to an arrow going between 220fps and 260 fps. Is there a dead, deader than dead, i don't know about?
