I dont understand what imreadinghere it aint the beard or spurs, its the hunt
Then why does every onego gagawhen talking about how long the beard and spurs are.

Rough quote:

"I had a gobbler come in oh my god you should have seen the double 29" beard and 13" spurs. I was shaking so much I could not draw my bow back."

Sorry to upset the turkey guys but if I want a turkey I'm heading to Walmart, heck I dont even eat turkey

After a long time away from this site I only have one thing to say...guys let Ausie be...we don't need any more turkey hunters in the woods its crowded enough

txjourneyman, i just got back from a close by area sunday...we had decent success, but it is a different type of bird than the easterns.... and it was very crowded where I hunted...I had a local setup between me and a bird one day, and another hunterbump a bird while I was hunting it.... I will hunt these birds again (have to get one for the slam)....but the learning curve on how to hunt themwas steep....
