You'll also get some amazing stories out of fish tags. The lodge we stay at in Canada on our annual walleye fishing trip had one caught that was 24 or 25 inches long. It had been caught and tagged 25 years earlier. They're growing season is so short and the winters so cold the fish just don't grow fast. That's why they strongly encourage you to throw back anything over 20 inches. For everyone over 24 inches you throw back at our lodge your name goes in a hat. At the end of the year a name is drawn for a free weeks stay at a time of your choosing. We throw them all back except for a couplemost days for shore lunch. The first 3 or 4 days we keep a few for the lodge to use on Wednesday for their fish fry.
