Jim,
You know I' ve seen you post for a while and never knew you lived so close! Ihave seen the Codorus down that way, but have never fished it.........looks nice and brushy, and its a tailwater isn' t it? What are the hatches and pressure like?
In the spring I' m usually heading to central Pa to fish Spring Creek, Fishing Creek, or Penns......or to the Upper Delaware system. I fish the Yellow Breeches quite a bit and have caught a bunch of fish there. I stay away from that little " Kids" run that flows out of the lake and fish the big water downstream. Once in a while I' ll go over to Big Spring and catch some of those big log rollers.....I' d really love to see that stream come back full force.
Stay in touch, we' ll have to chase some fish this spring.

AClakey,
Good to see you are still around.........

So there' s only 8 of us gonna respond?.......I know " Lilhunter" is a flyfisherman but i haven' t seen him here in a while.

This thread comes at a funny time, cause I just got yelled at by my wife last night to get " All that junk" off of the dining room table. Which referred to only about 1/20th of my flytying equipment. Got the urge to tie up some Baetis nymphs.

I' ve been messing with a fly rod for a few years. I fish what streams I can, but mostly my pond. Those big bluegills are a riot on my 5 wt rod.

Matt/PA, what part of Spring Creek do you fish? That group I referred to used to make an annual trip (they may still make it) up to Fisherman' s Paradise. We would stay at the lodge across from the hatchery that is used when train fish commission newcomers. There are some great caddis hatches up there in early spring.

MAtt/Pa,Good caddis hatch, terrestrials are great in the summer(especially grasshoppers). It' s a very intimate kind of stream-not wide, nice pools, brushy and alot of overhanging trees so your roll-casting better be on.It' s a Class A wild trout stream that' s fed by Lake Marburg-watre temps are pretty constant year round.I also fish Penn' s Creek. My dad has a cabin at the boy scout camp near Glen Iron.We go every opener and try to make the Drake hatch later in the Spring.

I was once very much into flyfishing but got out of it for the last few years. Hopefully, this year I will have more time to do just that. Those beautiful rods are just sitting down in the basement gathering dust....

you guys gotta check out the Elk River C&R in central WV.. trout rising to hatches of #32, yes #32 midges and 12x tippet. And during high water, streamer fisherman have chances of hooking into 30" browns and rainbows! oh, did I mention I flyfish and bowhunt?

HuntingBry,
I' ve fished Spring Creek literally hundreds of times.......I' ve fished the " Paradise" quite a bit. Not my favorite stretch of the stream by a long shot, but it' s neat to see as there is a lot of Flyfishing history wrapped up in that spot.
Ever see a " Strohman Bread Hatch" there?[8D] Wait for the kids to throw bread to the ducks and trout and get downstream a ways and fish anything " Breadlike"
Good for a laugh I' ll tell ya that!
