It really depends on what size peep I am using.
If it is a small peep then I have the sight bar out as far as it needs to be so I can center the sight ring in the peep.
If the peep has a large hole then the sight is slid in towards the riser till the sight ring centers in the peep.

I agree with both..
Aussie that was my thinking as well..but even fully extended I may be just short of centering. I shoot a pretty small peep.
and Germ I agree the greater the distance of the 2 "reference" points has to make you more accurate?!!?

I max out the length of mine, reasoning is because I want the pins as far away from as possible so it makes them as small as possible. When picking out a spot, I want to be able to pick out the smallest spot possible. Aim small, miss small.
