Between 2 and 3. I should be around 4,but I end up getting greedy when those does walk under my stand, I can't help myself. It's my weakness.

I've been in Stage 3 ever since I picked up a bow.

I went through the whole kill anything stage 1 phase with the rifle when I was younger, I'm happy with where I am now.

I have read this before. I don't agree with his progression. Can you be a 4 or 5 and still trophy hunt? I think you can. He makes it sound like you can't. With out getting real deep into this I will just say I'm 3-4-5 all rolled into one.
I agree!
I share traits with all so called "stages" - often refered to as "maturing".
Just the way Chuck writes this strongly suggestsfailure tofollow histhe way is somehow wrong and/or a character flaw. All aspects of the hunt are fun to me - don't think we need to imply some attitudes should be assigned greater points then others. In fact, less loose the feel of hunter to hunter comparisons and competition on all levels.

I am 2-3-4.

I want to shoot as many does as I can(2), BUT I want to do it under my conditions(4). And I want to wait on a top end buck for the areas I hunt(3)

Last season I entered stage 3. BUT I am also in a part of stage four as I have started to place huge emphasis on understanding deer behavior.
