Finally got my new hunting bow! (man law pics)
It's the new Bowtech...........nah.................
I posted this in the trad forum as well but I thought you guys would like to see my new PA hunting bow as well since most of you haven't caught this disease yet.
It's a 64" Morrison "Cougar" R/D longbow. 56# @ 30", cocobolo riser, with polished Kudu horn riser overlays and tips with genuine copperhead skin limb backs....stained bamboo on the belly. Limb cores are also bamboo.
The grip is a med-low wrist recurve style (very much like you find on their Shawnee TD) and man do I love it.
I have been trying to bareshaft tune it a bit downstairs but haven't spent too much time with it yet. It's close and wow does it ever whip and arrow.[:-]Visually it seems faster than my Black Widow recurve at 61# and the same draw. I was stacking arrows right out of the gate at about 18 yards and the 540gr arrowsfly really flat at that distance.
I think this will be the primary hunting bow for this year for PA's archery season mixing time with the Widow recurve. Broadheads will probably be 160gr Zwickey Eskimo 2 blades unless it's as quick as I think it is in which case it will be the same 150gr Snuffers I shoot off the Widow.
Here she is:
Riser pics........
Check out that Kudu!
Kudu again....this time the tips.
Last but not least the gorgeous Copperhead skin limb backs
