Default I need some good suggestions.

My broadheads don't shoot the same as my practice tips. I like to practice with my broadheads. my braoadheads really ruin my target. what I have been doing is shooting my field points and disreguarding where they hit as long as they group well. Then I shoot a few times w/ broadheads just to assure that my sites are on. Is there a better way? What do you guys do? I shoot fixed bh.

In my experience if you are properly tuned, and you don't torque your bow during the shot, your field points and broadheads should be grouping together all the time. I would suggest that you paper tune your bow and then maybe broadhead tune as well. If you aren't familiar with those processes, just type those phrases into Google and you will be flooded with answers. I recommend you read several of the responses, and figure out which will work for you. The technique should be about the same on all the sites, but some times people like to add there own twist. With little patients you should be able to get them all together, good luck.

I have read a bunch of stuff concerning tuning. There seems to be quite a lot of dissagreement as to if field points and bh should shoot the same. I really dont want togo there with this thread. Maybe I'm wrong to feel this way but I dont care if they don't shoot the same. I'm looking for maybe a target that will hold up to bh or other ideas. Just from a physics standpoint it is my opinoin that its not possible to get 2 different shape objects cutting thru air @ 300fps to fly the same. Again, I dont want to start a debate on this issue. Someone asked what I am shooting : 5575 goldtip xt hunter tipped with 100gr. montec. I'm shooting 60#

magicman, I can only tell you from my own experience, my fixed heads fly absolutely different from my fp. Now, I just started shooting fp this year, always have practiced with the BH, but, like you said, I went through 4 targets this past year, can afford to do that. My bow is tuned, and Im just gonna make adjustments as needed in Aug when I start to shoot BH. By the way, I wanted to tell you that you are great addition to this site, I enjoy your post and respect your accomplishments. Thank You Sir.

I wish I could practice with BH's a lot more, but something has to give somewhere. So, like VA said, do the majority of practice with FP's, then make any adjusments when the time comes. That's how I've always done it.

I don't know what to tell you on a good broad head target, do they make a good one is the question? I haven't seen one yet. Keep shooting the BH's Magic like you have been, thats what your hunting with. If you find a good one, please let me know so I can get a decent one. Stay away from the block, my Snuffers ate that thing up pretty quick!

Steve, I shoot the block with fp but I can see how the BH will destroy it. I don't think we can expect a target not to get torn slam up though, after all, if the heads are doing what they should, it should destroy the target!! I know my Muzzy did this year!! Thank God I wasn't shooting a RAGE!!! It would have turned to powder after two shots!!
