Do you know your draw lenght??
VERY important! I remember when I bought my bow and thought how easy it was to pull...at 70#'s. Then I added a D-loop and a release and couldnt get myself to hold it at it's let-off point. It was night and day pulling your bow back with and without the loop and release. If you buy the arrows you will more than likely need to cut them down, so take all of this into consideration.

If you are at all mechanically inclined, setting up your accessories will be no problem...especially with us around. As far as sighting in the pins, all you need is a allen wrench and a target. If you buy an accessorized bow, all you will need to worry about is setting your pins, letting them know your draw length, and definately tell them LEFT hand!

If you are going to be hunting in MS with a bowhunter, they can help you sight in your pins before you hit the woods; although it would help your targeting skills to get a few shots under your belt with your pin settings.

My buddy just bought a Parker Phoenix and wishes he would have bought a Hoyt!

Good luck!

I love hoyts but they only come bare. I can get a hoyt trykon in camo, bare in Scotland for $400. Though i'd need to buy accessories from the US which would add to the costs thats why i opted for huntersfriend because they give you practically everything and with a good service.

I do like the Diamond rapture i hope they can get it in left handed. Do you like it compared to the rest of them?

Rem from personnal experience I have had 3 reflex bows and had very bad experiences with them. The diamonds I have had one which I loved it and sold it. Diamonds are made by bowtech and are equal in quality. being that it is the freedom cam system it should be very easy to pull back. If you go with the rapture my buddys son has one and it is a darn good bow for the money a great starter bow.

PSE hun. Or Bear, i know too many people who have had limbs explode on the hoyts. Also try to stay away from BowTech. My local dealer used to sell BowTec and a few months later they all brought them back with some pretty big issues. Cracked limbs busted cams etc. He no longer sells Bowtec.
