ORIGINAL: mobow
My dad called me last evening. My grandmother has been in a nursing home and in failing health the last couple of years. Just going on what he says, she's taken a turn for the worse. I don't want prayers for her healing, because quite honestly.....she's not living right now anyway, and she'll be completely healed when she gets to heaven.
Just say a prayer for the family, for peace and understanding. It's been a tough road, and the potential for some "issues" is there. Well, I'm not going to get into details......just remember us in your prayers tonight, would ya?
Thanks so much.

Ya'll......I am once again humbled by the generosity and friendliness of the people of this board. Thank you, and I mean that, from the bottom of my heart.
I just went to dinner w/ dad, and he doesn't think it's going to be much longer. She's worse still today than yesterday, wants to do nothing but sleep, and isn't really....."with it" at all. We don't know, of course, that's up to the Lord as to when.....but the general consensus is......matter of days, if that.
It's tough. My dad, and aunt (his natural sister) were adopted by her and my grandfather. He passed a couple years ago, actually, it's been 3 now I guess.....Just very, very special people. And I don't say that because they are my grandparents. I wish each one of you could have met them, they truely are a rare breed in this day.
I guess the most difficult part, for me anyway, is watching it. Yes, I'll miss her terribly, and I'll grieve the loss....and boy oh boy oh boy am I gonna miss her fried chicken.....But....it's such a damn shame to see somebody that's worked hard her entire life, end up the way she is now. She's not living, she's just alive.....Anyway, I've rambed enough, as I have a tendancy to do.
Just know that I appreciate each and every one of the thoughts and prayers.
