Maximum Range?
How far of a shot are you guys comfortable with on deer sized game? This is taking out all the factors, and assuming this isn't an alert deer. Known yardage, and lets say it's an open field, such as hunting Mulies, Pronghorn, etc.
How far are you comfortable shooting out to?

RE: Maximum Range?
More than 5 yards and less than 100.[8D] I don't know. I have pins to 50 which means 55 if I want with no trouble. If I were going out west I'd add a pin, but I'd probably still wait and see if I could get a slam dunker. 20 yards and inis so nice. I've passed very makeable shots before thinking something better was coming and had it all fall apart. And yet, I still find myself doing it again because it's OK to fail once in a while. Lots better than a gut shot. If I really felt the need and knew the range, 50s fine. I just never really felt the need. I've killed several at 40.

It all depends on situation for me, Matt.

For me, and this is just me, I'm confident out to 60yds. That's really as far as I practice with my hunting bow, and that's where most of my practice is. I can usually, and you can take my word with a grain of salt, hold a 3 arrow group inside a paper plate, and sometimes even better. Rarely will I ever drop one out of a paper plate sized group. Once again, believe me or not, that's on average.

45 yards would be the max... but I'll be the first one to let down if I'm not totally comfortable with a shot. Odds of that 45 yard shot happening ain't much the way I hunt... my average is about 13.

deer.....40yds is pretty much my standard long shot, 50yds id consider, ever since going elk hunting where I was prepared to shoot 50/60yds, I feel I can put one in there.
Also though I thought I'd point out, the farther the shot, the more time the animal has to react, and to a deer that's huge!
