Rob took me to this range called Catawissa and there was this kid spitting arrows everywhere! Sparks were flying!!
X2[8D] The boy's dad was taking it in stride saying that the boy was just "warming" up his new arrows.

I was at a public range one time and drew back on the 40yrd target. Just as I was about to touch the release I noticed movement and noticed some idiot walking out of the woods and right up to the target I was aiming at.

Had a few choice words for him and asked him what part of the signs posted all over the place he could not read. The DO NOT ENTER or ACTIVE ARCHERY RANGE.

I got to talking to some other guys around there and found out that a couple of weeks earlier some of the local fairies that were out there in the woods was struck by an arrow that went over the target. Can't confirm it hear say only.

At Schofield Barracks in Hawaii there's a picture of a nice Pontiac that a tank coming off the firing line backed over. It was squashed flatter than a fritter. The rest of the story, the 25th Infantry Divison stationed at Schofield was on deployment orders for Vietnam. The used car guys were giving GI's pennies on the dollar for their cars. This enterprising Lt running the tank range pulled his car up behind a tank and then backed over it. Of course he declared it an accident, but the sleezy used car guys didn't get him. His insurance paid. LOL

one of my buddies had his macho bow set up to where he could barely pull it back so he had to point it up in the air and lower it as he pulled it back.....well in the process he hit his release and shot the light out of the ceiling at the range.

Back in college, I used to shoot indoor competition. This was back when overdraws were really big. This guy had a super fast bow and extremely small, light arrow. He drew back one time and the whole thing just exploded in his hands. After all over, he was holding only the riser. The top cam went through the tile ceiling and the bottom one ended up at the target.

Another one is one semester in college I decided to take an archery class to learn how to shoot traditional. The first day, the "teacher" showed up and looked at a bow and actually commented "so this is what they look like". He actually was a softball coach that was forced to teach archery when he never has seen a bow. Anyway, the point is that there was no instruction. One time after shooting, I waited until clear and began to walk down range to get arrows. Just then, the guy that was standing next to me began to draw back. His buddy said "hey, he's walking down range". They guy commented " oh, I'm not aiming that way anyways", and released the arrow when I was almost already at the target right next to his. I dropped the class that day.

Craziest thing I've seen was last yaer. A guy was shooting a back tension release for the first time. He'd taken a couple shots without incident. Well, on shot ten or so, he was pretty confident and drew pretty quickly. At about 3/4 draw, the release goes off. Well, arrow goes skyward (indoors) and the arrows goes through the freon line for the AC system. Freon all over the place! Whole range fills with smoke, pretty wild scene!
