I always felt that with a bigger peep there was too much guess work put into trying to make sure that the pin guard was centered. Especially with changing the angle or direction of shot during a hunting situation it's just one more thing to pay attention to. It always made more sense to me from an accuracy perspective to snug it right up to the top so that I knew it was in the same spot every time, not just close to the same spot. I agree with you Jeff that it is probably a lot easier when using a small peep because there's not as much room for mistake.
Staying a little off topic, I do the same thing for the same reason, Justin.

I shot one tonight... The small one.. I thought it was nice, I may even buy one...

The big one is WAY to big IMO.

I have seen regular peeps get oblonged in the larger sizes due to the string squeezing in the peep.I can really see the "legs" on these peeps getting squeezed together.

Just an FYI since we're on the subject of alternate style peep sights........this is another one made by a local PA company and I know some of the guys behind them, good people.
I have one of these to try this season.

Justin, these things are so HEAVY it isn't funny. They are constructed out of aluminum. I weighed the largest one and it weighed like 67grains I believe. Too heavy and bulky for me.
Not disagreeing with you Matt, but 67 grains? When I picked up my new Katera yesterday I looked at them....unless it was made of lead, it looked no where near 67 grains to me.

Maybe I'm mistaken.
