Default How important is it???

To have a good stand of mature white oaks on the property, even if there is plenty of agriculture. I think it is important for staging bucks, what do you think???

i would agree, and in daylight hours, i think they are much more likely to be in the oaks checking does, than out in the middle of a field. im no expert though, thats just personal experience

Oaks are nice. Better if they are concentrated though. Scattered oaks can be tough going, but if you got em in a group you are golden.

I actually don't believe its that important to have Oaks on a property. It's always good.. but I don't consider it important. Their are many food sources that "come into season" that whitetail browse heavily on.

And staging bucks..?? That's a touchy subject. But they'll stage wherever they feel safe.. Oaks or not.

I think having White Oaks is on your property is huge. Acorns are the deer's most preferred food, bar none, and will abandon food plots and other excellent food sources for them. Since they are loaded with carbohydrates and fats, deer instictively eat them to prepare them for the rigors of the rut and winter. White Oaks=Whitetails.
