How important is it???

RE: How important is it???
Duke please elaborate on your thought about staging .
They stage.. yes. But just not the way I read it.. in my opinion.
I could go on for hours on my theories of mature deer staging.. and little of it has to do with a buck staging in an acorn flat 300+ yards from where the buck was bedded on the edge of an AG field just before dark. I don't think so.
They stage in much tighter.. only going 10.. 20... 50 yrds. max from their day time haunts (relative to the time of year). Many times only 5-10 yards from where they got up just before dark.
I think alot of hunters misunderstand the subtle differences between a staging area of a buck and a destination food source.

Sorry Va.. I didn't want to steal the thread.
Staging whitetails have just always been a pet peeve for me.

It's refering to a whitetail "hanging back" so to speak.. browsing.. rubbing.. making scrapes.. all before entering more open terrain.. (i.e. an agricultural field.)
I apologize for my ignorance, but what does 'staging' mean?

Duke, I have question for ya. Do you think bucks just buy their time until it is dark most of the year?? Except summer, usually get a peak then, but as soon as Oct gets here it's like they wait.
