That is a great story. It's truly something to help keep a piece of that man's treasured memories in good shape for him.

Thanks guys!! There is a lot of sweat and memories in that fence might as well put some more into it.

Great story. Wish I lived closer. I would help you with the fence. I miss the days of walking the fence on our home farm. After the last of the horses passed away (no one else rode the horses after I left for the Navy), the fence was taken down. Great memories of walking that fence. We had more problems withdeer than trees, though.

Reminds me of why I moved farther out in the country! I grew up on a farm next door to me. I helped all of the time with chores when I was a kid. The farmer was in his 70's and lived all alone. Now there is a car dealership in the "old field".Since the development has taken over my old stomping ground, I moved out in the country andI have a little over 5 acres with a cattle farm and an equestrian ranch as neighbors. The fence is an important part of how we live out here.

I cant count how many times I have been out walking the fence line and removing my trees that have fallen on the fence!

Dont let that man down...and mend the fence!

Great story. Good fences make good neighbors[:-]. Someone wise(and a heck of a poet) said that a long time ago.
