OK, thanks guys!!

How early do you think is practical? 1 hour? 2 hours? Hope it is not the latter!

What about leaving at night? Stay later?
Half hour before light in your spot all settled down and ready to go should be fine, its what I do anyway. When leaving at night don't leave to early (so many chicken ****s do this and it will screw up your area) To be legal about it some states say you can hunt 1/2 hour after sunset and thats it, not sure what all states do on this. I always leave when I can't see the spot I'm shooting for being I'm a traditional bow hunter and not using sights. If I have deer in front of me when its time to go I'll sit in the stand and wait them out rather then spooking them and showing them where I'm at in the woods, they remember stuff like this.

I had a good stand once. I called it the "Magic Apple Tree." I Harvested (8) eight pointers there in as many years. I would enter before daylight by walking down a shallow stream which was flanked by a step bank on one side and a heavy crab apple thicket on the other side.

Several years ago high winds came through the area and downed several trees making the area too difficult to walk through.....

at least an 1 1/2 hours before first light so your scent dissapates even with rubber boots leave those boots outside buried in dirt or rotten leave s a month before you hunt and leave them in a bag when you drive there and never walk on tar road with them.Thats me i was lazy one time and didnt follow my own rules and a 10 was coming perfect and smelled my foot tracks reared up and split thats with rubber boots just not cared for,not saying i didnt touch a branch but i where rubber gloves now to lesson learned
