very good point.. wish i could do that ... where i hunt i feel like if i dont shoot it the deer will jus walk 200 yards an get shot!
Sorry, I just could never understand that logic....Let the other guys shoot the small ones and leave the woods so the giants can come out. If one keeps the logic to shoot the first buck which comes by...the chance of seeing a monster is demised. I saw twenty four bucks last year before shooting a 140.....

long as I have elk to fill the freezer, I get to be picky on whitetail bucks.. I like it that way.. but would try to kill a big one every year...4-5 years is a long time to go without gutting a big buck..

my only prob with that is a "140" doesnt exist round here...if i was hunting somewhere where they are not so far an few bewteen id would let everyhting walk without a problem. i guess i could wait out for my "100" inch an consider that my monster

The first deer I shoot has to be a WR or very close or I'm not shooting. Been hunting since I was a boy.

I'll take the buck every year--that's what I buy tags for-to fill 'em.

That is what I thought until about 20 years ago when I stopped shooting the smaller bucks......

nodog:

I don't know about WR but you are in a good state to get a monster

I'd take a decent buck every year.................. as long as it was 125 and over.

Right now I will take anything that I can get over a year and a half with 3 inch spikes to be perfectly honest with you, lol
