RE: Yardage
Is that what your doing if/when I come down in Sept? If so, put me a couple hundred yards away. [8D] I want to be safe and the deer unalert. [8D]

I'll be joining you this fall at the lower altitudes. 12' will be my cap......and if I get off my ass and build a good ground blind or two.....maybe there.

Yeah Rob, Jeff might mistake all your gray hair for a deer and shoot you. LOL

RE: Yardage
I would like to interject some actual pig shooting experiances that I have had from a pretty high tree stand. The Bushnell with ARC and the Leupold RXII are well worth the money for gauging. I have only missed one hog so far and it was because I did not judge the range correctly. I am still pretty new to the archery bit and I guessed he was about 20 yards. He was only eight yards in the falling light. I do not have my own property so I have to shoot where ever I can get set up. It is very useful for me to range several sticks, bushes, palmetto, or bases of trees so that I can get an idea of ranges from my new stand as soon as I get it in the tree. It really has helped me out and when we do 3d shoots. It is kind of cool to shoot the targets that they set down in creeks. I usually ask everyone what the range is and 90% of the time they will miss it by 5 to 8 yards. Probably not a big deal from 10 to 20 yards but from 30 to 40 yards it seems to make a large difference.

Also the last 3d shoot the group behind us did not have ARC. The difference in angle of course made the actual distance more. More angle it seemed more of a range difference between the 2 rangefinders.
