What do you do with your old bow

RE: What do you do with your old bow
My last "old" bow I sold to my best friend, who is a new father, and already has another one on the way. It was an 03 UltraTec, I loaded it up for him with a whisker buscuit (what he wanted) a FO sight, quiver, stabilizer and I bought him a dozen arrows. Sold it to him for $200, which covered the cost of all the stuff I put on it for him, and I set it up and tuned it and all totally free. He got an awesome bow, I got rid of one I wasn't using, and I didn't lose money and he didn't get ripped off. Its what friends are for.
I've sold a couple on ebay. Ironically, both of the bows I sold there, I also bought used, and I made money on both of them... in one case I made about $100.

Down here in Texas there is a guy. you guys know him. He started setting up wounded vets with bows and gets them ready to hunt as a form of rehab. His name is Tink as in Tinks 69. His program is Bows For Heros. Look it up on the net and if you guys have extra bows, arrows, or any equipment you are not using send them down.I give all my extra gear to him. Its a great program and it makes me feel good giving backto the guys who put there life on the line for my freedom.

I got all of mine (4 over the years) and as people need them I loan them out, but do ask for them back.
Have had a couple times where the only bow in the house was my current one, all the rest were out being used.
Don't put a time limit on them, they are given back when not needed anymore...

I have never sold one. I either donate them to a charity or give them to someone who wants a bow but can't afford a good one. That said, I have only had 4 in 21 years of bowhunting so it is not like I am all that generous.

RE: What do you do with your old bow
I keep my newest old bow for a back up. When I get another I've always found someone I thought was deserving and gave it away. I hung one in Len's collection of old bows at his shop.
