Default 82nd Cracked Limbs... (pics)

Well... I discovered this today, a crack in in my lower limb on my 82nd. It will be taken care of shortly, still a bummer. No real idea what caused it, but this is my second bow with cracked limbs in the last 5 monthsMaybe my luck is just that good. Anyone else seen this on any '08 bowtech?

Bad luck comes in three's. hang on tight! If I were you I would throw some salt over your left shoulder. You didn't break any mirrors did you?

Not recently, probably because I haven't looked into one . I did walk under a ladder though.

I have to wonder WHY bowtech hasn't gone to a LAMINATED limb????? With as many Limb problems as I've heard about them over the years, it would seem to make sense to change to laminated limbs, even IF it increases the cost a little. JMO though. It's part of what would scare me about buying a used Bowtech is the fear that I'd crack a limb.

2 limbs in 5 months sucks. Just out of curiosity have these 2 bows been pressed by you or a bow shop?

Looks more of a "ding" or slight delamination than a crack though. Either way tough break. As I said on the phone, if you have any problems let me know.

For clarification purposes, the first bow was my Hoyt Vectix, they were not both Bowtech bows.

It was actually both limbs on the hoyt, the only time the bow was ever pressed was when i installed the rest and when I installed the new strings. Both times my limb pocket were loosened and properly pressed (I was present at the press).

The same goes for the bowtech.

Scott, I agree... to me a crack is horizontal or something that goes perpendicular to the material of the limb. To me it looks as if a piece of the top layer of the limb has come loose. The chip actually came from my pro-pod, it caught on the loose piece when I put it on (the mule deer target 11 ). I definitely don't foresee any problems with Bowtech customer service.
