Hunting Celebrities - your thoughts?

RE: Hunting Celebrities - your thoughts?
I can name a few hunters who are also celebrites that are truely experts in their field:
Bob Foulkrod (archery)
Randy Ulmer (archery)
Chuck Adams (archery)
Rob Keck (Pres NWTF)
Fred Zink (prob the best goose hunter alive)
Field Hudnall (two time world champ goose caller made celeb by Zink)
...infact most waterfowl pros save those flyway highway schmoes....
How about Tom Nelson... American Archer
Now how about some other well known pro hunters... why are they there?
David Morris (owns Tecomate and El Cazador Ranch) Great guy... knowledgeable.... but he is a scientist because of his tricked out Labratory... not because he is Eienstein.
Michael Waddell.... he is an amazing turkey hunter I'll give him that any day.... but he was on the right team at the right time... thats why he is where he is..... nothing againest him...
Bill Jordan (expert businessman) The man is a genius... put your product on everything and make it fashionable..... but he is the camo guy.... a good hunter sure.... but I don't think he is world class.
Craig Boddington (Colonel, USMC, ret.) I enjoy his periodicals and books, and he is certainly knowledgable about firearms and Africa, but he was a Marine by profession. He is good in front of the camera, and has a talent for writing.... does that make him a world class hunter in his own right... no.

Man for Man or Women for Women I think the men and women we got on here are just as good if not BETTER at what they do in the woods.WHY??? Well we enjoy it more cause were not doing it as a job we work at it and its more rewarding to us when we find success. YourcorrectFran how many times do you see them (t.v. personalities)let deer walk cause the cameraman is not in the right spot. Do you really think these people enjoy it more than you and me when we work for a living and hunt as a hobby?
Im not sure if you guys can understand what Im trying to say as Im not the best with words, but all in all I would rather be in the position Im in now than get paid to do it year around!Take Ted Nuggent the other night shooting 2 buck in a high fence, sorry Blood Brother I like what ya got to say and all but where is the excitement in that? Also how many of the guys like Primos and Jackie Bushman , Drury Brothers, ect. find out about a big buck on someones land and then they go in and Pay them to hunt it. I am sure this happens alot and there again they do no work! Dont get me wrong I like the shows for ENTERTAINMENT but thats it!
I dont think any of them are any better of a hunter than me. Maybe you think I got a big head But Hell I could kill lots of big buck in there shoes to. I mean you know how excited we get when we see a deer or a buck, how excited do you think they get when they know they are coming ...no big deal. I know they probably get excited but do you think its remotly close to the excitement that we share when a plan comes together!

The problem with an average joe blow on television is that he or she looks and acts like an idiot. Most have just as much skills as the celebs, but the celebs make it easier to watch on t.v. or video. I personally don't watch hunting shows on t.v. or videos to learn something. I watch them merely because I love to hunt. I consider myself an accomplished hunter, but I would probably not make a real good hunting show host. I'll leave that to the celebs. Granted they get to hunt the best places and don't have to do as much "hunting" as the average hunter, but they are still hunters and love the sport. Some of them do though get on my nerves. I'll have to admit that.

These shows are entertainment. When I want to learn something about hunting....I come here.
Put Paris Hilton in a camo bikini and sit her little ass in a dove field......and I'm watching even if she throws rocks.
It is what it is.

I watch Keck all the time. The man is probably the best imageyou could want for the NWTF. He's humble, good at what he does and educational always. I think he's the perfect man for the job. He doesn't play the high fives, comedian "that's what I'm talking about" idiot so many think they have to to be entertaining. We really don'tneed all these comedians doing their "Smack down" crap.
