Anybody gonna hunt sheds?

RE: Anybody gonna hunt sheds?
I'm going to look for them too.
All the deer I have seen this year still have their coat-racks attatched. I've read that now through March is the right time of year for deer in my area to drop them. I've also heard that they start later the further South you go.
The only shed I've ever found was on a complete skeleton. He had 8 inch spikes. It looked like some kind of Devil-beast.
The poor guy never knew what hit him. <img src=icon_smile_dead.gif border=0 align=middle>
Deer really need to look both ways before crossing the tracks.
Keep 'em all in the Bull.

I usually dont start looking till feb but i thiught with the warm weather we had who knows how it might affect the timing for bucks to drop their antlers. So i went out this am and found a matching pair of sheds and to boot they were in the same place i found one last year. I know where this paticular buck has his 2 bedrooms i found his matching set of sheds last year and got one from him 2 years prior. He added alot more mass to his rack this year and added one new point. Im still very suprised to have found sheds so early in the year but i am also very happy to have found his rack again.Unfortunatly i cant hunt this buck he resides in a area closed to hunting. So i will have to settle for hunting his sheds.Has anyone else noticed them dropping earlier than usual?

I,ve never tried it, but was planning on taking my son out and doing a little snooping. I'll probably start early Feb. I saw a nice buck this year and would love to find his. I've read some articles on it and they say the best place to look is around food sources. If you have a fence that the deer jump, this is another good place. Good luck huntin.
