I had no idea that they could take down a deer. I was driving up on a pass in Utah once and saw one sitting on a deer just off the road. (Got a pic somewhere but it's on 35mm.)I always thought that the deer was a road kill but now I am wondering.

The people on youtube are so dumb. This one person wrote "They can't kill deers in real nature!!"

That's not true. The last time a golden eagle grabbed my head in its talons they just dug into the flesh. My skull did not crack at all.

Seriously, what an amazing creature. I checked out some of the other videos and they are definitely an apex predator. Although, the one that took on the cougar didn't fare too well, but hey, it's a cougar.
