Default axle to axle

Which axle to axle length do you prefer/

I just set-up a hoyt katera xl Saturday and have always prefered the longer ata bows

Looking at an X8 now and was wondering if anyone still uses bows with an ata of longer than 40 in.

I only have a 28" draw but I prefer bows with a minimum of 33" A to A, and the new Airbornes at 36" and change really anchor on target. Super short bows are not for everyone.

I have a 26 inch draw length which is pretty short. I have a few bows that are in the 35 inch range, and a few in the 30-33 inch range. My next bow will be a minimum of 35 inches ATA.

I don't see how these guys with longer draw lengths can shoot the short bows. I am so much more comfortable with a longer bow and less string angle.

And to tell you the truth I can't really tell difference between any of them as far as the way they handle when walking around or being in a stand. When you lay my 35 inch bow down and lay the 31 inch bow next to it and center it there really isn't that big of difference after taking into consideration over all length with the cams and everything.

I really want a reflex carribou, but the draw length doesn't go low enough. I might see if I can get around that though.

That's my personal view on it, some like the short bows.

I like longer ata bow but if there is a shorter ata bow that is really sweet then i would buy it. I have a 29" dl and i'm shooting a shorter ata bow right now(bear instinct) and i have had no problems.

I too prefere the longer ata. I was out of archery for about 12 years and when i got back into it a couple years I sold my old bow and bought a new one with a 32" ata. It has it's place but my next bow will have a longer ata.

I just bought a DXT with a 29.75 ATA and I love it, and I have a 29.5 inch draw and I have no problems with it, it shoots great.

I prefer something around 36in AtoA howeverthe three bows Ihunt with now are 33 1/2, 34 and 36in, and all are just fine at 31-32in draw lengths. I think the riser design has something to do with it. For instance, I don't want a 37 (and up) inch AtoA in a parallel limb bow....too much riser for me.[:'(]

I think the longer ones anchor on target better.
