Default Anyone use small / light broadheads?

Anyone have much experience hunting with 75gr muzzy's or 85gr Montec G5? or just any other light/small broadhead? under 100gr?

Do they not kill as well? What's your experience with sub-100gr broadheads?

I have used 75gr. Muzzys for 4 years and have shot 9 deer with them. They kill just as well as any other broadhead out there.I think they are a great head.

I have used the 75 gr. Muzzy, as well as several my buddies. They fly extremely well at long range. No doubt their smaller swath through the air helps them fly straight. Like most things in life, there are no free lunches. They seem to deliver very good penetration and don't give quite as good of blood trail as the heavier and wider Muzzy heads. They are, however, adequate for antelope.Don't know of anyone who hastried them on anything bigger.

Whatever fits your setup the best is what I would use...

In all honesty, if you put it in the right spot... it's not gonna matter what it is or how much it weighs. It's all about shot placement.

Just seems everyone these days is obsessed with large broadheads, surface areas, dont hear anyone using less than 100gr, the rage 2blade 2" of cutting! sounds huge, I just forsee that hitting bone and stopping, they should market a 2blade like 85gr thatll cut 1.5", something along those lines, I don't want to use the rage 3blade.

75 or 85 grain head will do just fine assuming you put it in the right place. If you drill a deer (or any animal for that matter) through the lungs, type of broadhead, cutting diameter, number of grains all becomes kind of a moot point.

I've used 75 gr heads for going on ten years now with no problems. Usually they are eassier to tune than larger heads, but every once in a while, due to setup changes, I switch to a 100 grainer.
