Sitting in a tree stand from daylight to dark I occasionally stand. When a shot develops I will not move unless it is necessary. I will say the biggest percentage of my kills have been from a sitting position.

Standing to Sitting
I've taken deer both ways,but feel my preference is standing as I'm not limiting myself by being in the sitting position. I.e deer comming in from an unexpected direction,in turn creates movement from me. I like being able to move with the least amount of movement and by standing I can do that. I'm sure their are those who will disagree,that's all from experience,chance and oppertunity.

In over 30 yrs. of bowhunting I can only remember shooting two deer while sitting. I prefer to shoot at deer while standing in a stand, standing on the ground, or kneeling on the ground.

I prefer to shoot them on my feet standing on the ground. There is nothing cooler than a successfull stalk on a whitetail using your bow. However........ I'm not that good to do that all the time[8D]so most of mine are standing in a treestand. I've never shot one from a sitting position.

I think itdepends on the situation and which stand I'm hunting in. Last year I had a small buck come straight at me and then headed uphill to my left. The only shot I could get was to stand up to clear a pine branch. Got em! The year before, I had a doe come in to my left and I was sitting down. I raised my bow and Whack! Got her! Oh what a great feeling! Although I would love to stalk, I am not good at it.

I have always stood,shooting out of a tree stand.I intend to do some more practicing from a sitting position.For those times when you can't get away with the movement it takes to stand.
