3 HNI'rs, 6 guys for Indoor 3D.
Well, we got 3 HNI'rs together for a littel 3D'n this afternoon. Missing were tkycaller, PA Hardwoods, Twildson, M/Hensler for starters LOL Hopefully we'll get everyone together soon.
BPBowhunter, bowtechben and myself joined my friend Nate and Ben's buddies Doug and Mike for a little 3D action indoors. There was an outside shoot today but man, it's so cold and very high winds so....we pussed out and went indoors.
We put a little bet on the shoot today. Everyone chipped in 2 dollars. We figured we pay out two places, 1st and 4th so we had two flights. A little chance to get back a few dollars and make it interesting. AND Right before we started my buddy Nate handed me $5 and said, that's a side bet between you and I. Agreed.
We didn't count 12's except for tie breakers as there we some with center twelves, the majority with ASA twelves.
For the over half the targets, Nate was leading us. He was nailing every ten ring and I floated a couple out high. I wasn't not sure why I was shooting high all of a sudden, it's not the bow but I was pushing it off or something. I ended Harrisburg with high out of the ten ring shots and it followed me today. It didn't take me long to figure it out, calm down, relax and shoot. The tens started lining up.
Brian, (BPBowhunter) was starting to find the ten rings too. This was Brians very first 3D shoot of anykind. I was hoping he was having a good time. Ben (bowtechben) and his two buddies were shooting ahead of us as a group.
Here's Ben coming off the range:
Nate and Brian (BPBowhunter) pulling arrows and recording the arrows:
Ben (bowtechben), Nate and BPBowhunter:
This little piggy hid behind the log. There were a pile of broken off arrows, points and inserts in that log...LOL [8D] Our arrows missed the log and found foam.
This stinker was shot from the opposite corner. You plug him in before heading to the second floor platform as he sits there and spins. Not only do you have to shoot the distance, you have to shoot the correct area and time it as he the score rings come around. You can shoot him on either side or right up the tail.
And a flock or turkeys to finish off the round:
As it turns out, the standing were as follows:
Rob 1st and $11.00 richer.
Nate 2nd
bowtechben 3rd.
Doug 4th and $6 richer
BPBowhunter 5th
Mike finishing up the team.
I had a great time again guys. I'm hoping over time we'll find a few more guys who might want to join us and as the temperature and weather turnes better we'll get outside and have a good time too. I enjoyed it very much Brian and Ben. I'll give you guys a holla when we do it again. I'm assuming next Sunday would be good again. tkycaller, Matt, Tim, Chad, and anyone else if in the area and interested, look us up.

RE: 3 HNI'rs, 6 guys for Indoor 3D.
Rob,
I had a blast today, I'm bit by the 3D bug, and looking forward to enjoying many more shoots with you and the guys. Like Rob said this was my first real 3D shoot and I'm hooked.
Iwould like to sayit was a pleasure shooting with Rob and Nate, they made me feel right at home with them. They were neck and neckwith each other all day,and in the end it all came down to the final few targets.
I'll tell you what, theses guys can shoot. Thanks again Rob for the invite, look forward to doing it again real soon.

Sorry I missed it today Rob. I actually got called in to work at the Bryce Jordan Center today for the PSU womens basketball game. Let me know next time and I will do my best to be there. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. So if I shoot with my recurve to I get a handicap? LOL Or maybe its time you stepped up and played with the big boys and started shooting traditional. LOL[8D]

RE: 3 HNI'rs, 6 guys for Indoor 3D.
Another perfect Sunday if you ask me. I am offically hooked. After last Sunday, I went to Gander and shot a bit this week so I would be sharper for the festivities on Sunday. Catawissa is a haul, but even with the V8 it is worth it tome to see how they moved the targets around. It is the fourth week of their league and the smaller targets are moving to the back of the shooting area. Doug and Mike had a blast. It was a first time for Mike and a first time in a long time for Doug. Both said they would be back for revenge in the furry or as it was foamy woodland creatures. Thanks Guys! I am sure it won't be the last time.

Looks like a lot of fun. I'm finally getting my strings (ordered them the other day). I'll get those on and practice for 6months, and then I might be almost good enough to show up lol

Thanks guys, I hope those of you that want to shoot can make it one of these times. I'm not sure about next week as of yet. Might be a possibility. I know there is another outdoor, weather permitting shoot. I'll do this one again if guys are willing. I'd like to get Nate to Altoona area to shoot with my buddy Kurt too, there they have a pop up target course out to 38 yards that is a blast.
They had a spinning frog target too. The difficulty level goes way up with those moving targets.
They said too that the difficulty will be going up the next couple weeks as leagues come to a close.
