RE: Farthest shot with a bow
Are you talking about at a deer? All my shots at deer have been inside of 20 yards with a bow. And I have not shot one past 80 yards with a gun.
The longest shot I have taken while practicing is 90 yards I think. And I used to practice quite a bit at 70 yards.

4o yards on a mule deer. I live in the west and a 60 yard shot here is about a normal shot. Wide open area with breaks and not much in between. I have had all good kills on all the animals I have shot. People here practice at longer shots and they are good at them. With the bows we have today and the lbs. we shoot a longer shot with good placement and have the confidence can make a good kill.

My furthest shot was 33 yds......on my best buck. I honestly thought he was 27 or so yards. I'm not proud of the shot.....but it was effective. My effective zone is getting increasingly SHORTER.

call me a rookie but my longest shot is 28 yards! I like them real close. Most of my kills are within 20 yards! I never felt comfortable outside 30 yards so I just wait till another day to get them if they dont come close! This is one thing I need to work on!
