Any really good new BH designs for this year
I'm always looking to experiment and wondered if anyone who had been to the big show had seen any really good new designs for broadheads for this year.

I didn't go the show, but these are suppose to be out this spring.

They look like they give you the best of both worlds, cut to the tip like Magnus, and replaceable blades like a Muzzy. I think I'm going to give them a try this summer and see how they do. I hope they don't cost an arm and a leg.

Vortex has a semi-new line called the Stainless Solids. They are built like the older 3 blade model, but the body is from a solid piece of stainless steel and they have a 1 1/2" cut. I've been shooting the older 2" cut model for almost ten years and the aluminum body on those is all but indestructible, so the new SS models have to be something else for sure. I've gotten great penetration with the older 2" model at 60lbs also so the smaller cut should penetrate with the best of them. I want to try the new ones, but have had such good luck with the old ones, I don't want to switch.

As usual there are some new heads trying to grab a market share.
Check out www.spintite.com to find a broadhead called Crimson Talon. I'm somewhat skeptical but I will reserve judgement until I test some. They sure look purdy though. <img src=icon_smile_kisses.gif border=0 align=middle>
Interestingly enough Rocky mountain has three new heads.
1. Ironhead XP: It is a stainless steel 100 grain head with two blades that "jacknife" backward similar to the action of the Rocket Areoheads but it has a snyper type tip, again all in stainless steel.
2. Tradition: a 100 grain 15/16" cut fixed stainless steel two blade with a snyper type tip.
3. Ironhead 100: 100 grain stainless steel three blade 1" cut with a snyper type tip.
So many heads, so little cash.....

WOW! Those Spintites are some wicked looking heads. Sure would like to see how they fly and perform in tests. Seems that broadhead tuning could be alot easier if they do what they claim.

I wonder if you have to make sure your helical matches that of the blades. That would be interesting to see them fighting each other. How can they claim 'no tuning necessary?' If your insert is not aligned right, the broadhead won't be and it won't fly right. Very neat design, though. Please, somebody try these out.

Those Crimson Talon's do look interesting. I wonder how they will stand up though if 5-shot decides to launch them at a steel barrel, plywood, and a tire.
